This is a bit last minute but... a panel comprised of Deputy Director of the Chicago Division of the Illinois State Crim Laboratory Jan Girten, Chicago mystery writer Michael Allen Dymmoch, and author and Crime Lab Project Director Jan Burke will discuss how writers use and discover forensic details in their work, recent developments in forensic science, and how what we see in entertainment compares with real-life forensic science at the Skokie Public Library (IL).

9/5/2006 - Check out the progress of Stolen Life from Nanoflix Productions! There's a new five minute trailer that really sets up a great atmosphere for this 3D animated sci-fi detective movie. (I suggest using Quicktime to watch it.)
