January Mystery Game of the Month!

Alfred Hitchcock: The Final Cut
UbiSoft

You play the part of Joseph Shamsley, a private investigator with moderate psychic powers evidenced in periodic flashbacks (which are actually 15 minutes worth of Hitchcock film footage). Hired by millionaire Robert Marvin-Jordan, you must discover what has happened to the crew he had hired to film a Hitchcock-esque film. The plot twists and turns around murder and once you think you have it figured out the plot twists again - this one will keep you guessing.

The graphics are quite good, from the Bates-like mansion to the mysterious diner to the close-up inspections when hunting for clues. And most of the information you're able to gather is kept organized in a sort of virtual PDA. The background is dark and moody, as is the music. There's also a little bit of an action element... like trying to escape from a locked room with a gas leak - so stay on your toes.

If you're a Hitchcock fan you'll probably enjoy the references, video footage, and possibly even the talking Minah bird named Alfred.
